Translume has the ability to fabricate microfluidic channels of almost any shape and size that you can envision.
Our standard microfluidic chips have channels with nearly perfect rectangular (or square) cross-sections, but you do not have to limit yourselves to these geometries. You don’t even have to work with a constant channel width and/or constant channel depth.
We fabricate customer-designed microfluidic chips and flow cells with:
- integrated flow restrictors
- discreet (stepped) changes in channel depth and/or channel width, and
- progressive (smooth) cross-section morphing
At your request, we can insert nozzles or diffusers in the fluid path, and we can shape any of the microfluidic channel walls to introduce local features; Chevrons for example are often requested, typically to provide a mixing capability.
