Many of our microfluidic chips and flow cells are equipped with Nanoport™ connectors. Model N-126S, which was our standard model since 2008, is no longer in production. It has been replaced by model N-333.
Model N-333, like its predecessor, is made of PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) and perfluoroelastomer. These materials are compatible with a wide range of common liquids.
An important feature of the Nanoport design is that it almost completely eliminates dead volume associated with fluid connection.
The model N-333 connector is comprised of three elements: (1) a head component, (2) a cone-shaped ferrule, and (3) a base. The tubing is held in place by the ferrule when the head piece is hand-tightened. It is recommended that this assembly be used with PEEK tubing.
The N-333 model is designed to be used directly with 1/16" OD tubing (1.59 mm). It can also be used with 1/32” OD and 360-micron OD tubing, using IDEX adapter sleeve kits (provided with each Translume’s device equipped with N333).
